Q: I transfer the fee via Internet banking or telephone banking. How can I provide the pay-in slip?
A: For transfer via Internet banking, please provide screen dump of the transaction. We do not recommend transfer via telephone banking.
Q: I would like to participate in only a particular activity of the Festival rather than all activities of the Festival. Can I just join that activity?
A: The Festival pass will entitle you to join all activities of the Festival (except the concerts). We have a variety of activities in the Festival and encourage you to fully enjoy them.

Q: (Hong Kong residents only) I am a friend of LCSD venue / a recipient of the Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA). How can I enjoy the discount on concert tickets?
A: Please buy tickets at URBTIX from 24 June 2004 onwards.
Q: Do I need to provide proof to purchase concessionary tickets?
A: No. But the ticket holder must show his / her proof when coming to the concert.

Q: When shall I know if preliminary round is required?
A: You will be notified by early July 2004.
Q: When will the exact schedule of competition be known?
A: You will be notified by early July 2004.
Q: When will the order of competitors be known?
A: The order is determined by drawing lots after 15 June 2004. The date/time/venue will be announced in our website in due course. You will be notified of the results by early July 2004 by e-mail or by post.
Q: I will compete in more than one category. What if there is a schedule conflict?
A: The conflict will be detected during lots-drawing. The lots-drawing will be repeated until all conflicts are resolved.
Q: Is melodica considered a type of harmonica?
A: In line with the consensus of the international harmonica community, melodica is not considered a type of harmonica.
Q: Is my accompanist required to buy a festival pass?
A: Your accompanist needs not buy a festival pass if he/she does not participate in any other Festival activities. When you collect your festival pass at the
festival registration booth, a pass will be issued to entitle your accompanist to enter the competition venue. Nevertheless, we encourage your accompanist to buy a festival pass to enjoy the other Festival
activities.
Q: May I both bring an accompanist and supply CD/MD as accompaniment?
A: Yes.
Q: How long are the test pieces of the open section of chromatic harmonica solo and tremolo harmonica solo?
A: About 2 minutes.

Q: Can I take video or audio recording?
A: According to the law of Hong Kong, it is an offence to bring video or audio recording devices into concerts. Please deposit such devices to the cloakroom before attending the concerts. Video or audio recording is also prohibited in opening ceremony. Otherwise, participants of the Festival are free to take video or audio recording of other Festival activities for personal archival purposes, but not for commercial use, and provided that the recording activity does not cause disturbance to the performers or the audience. All those who wish to avail themselves of the said courtesy extended by the organizers/presenters of the Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival are deemed to have accepted the conditions for video or audio recording set out above.
Q: Can I take photos?
A: Photo-taking is prohibited during concerts. You may take photos during opening ceremony, closing ceremony, competitions, forums and seminars as long as this does not cause disturbance to the performers or the audience. Specifically, you should not use flashlight.
Q: Is smoking allowed?
A: Smoking is prohibited at all indoor public venues according to the law of Hong Kong.
Q: Is eating or drinking allowed?
A: Eating and drinking is prohibited inside the premises of Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
Q: Can I use mobile phone?
A: To leave a pleasant experience to all participants and performers, please do not use mobile phone during concerts, opening ceremony, closing ceremony, competitions, forums, seminars and inside Exhibition Gallery. Please also switch off the ring tone of mobile phone, alarm watch, pager and other sounding devices.
